Today’s high temperature is expected to be 106 degrees. I don’t care how used you are to the heat, that’s hot. No other way to explain it.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Tuesday for most of south and central Texas, including Bexar County. A heat advisory is “issued within 12 hours of the onset of the following conditions: heat index of at least 105 degrees but less than 115 degrees for less than three hours per day or nighttime lows above 80 degrees for two consecutive days.”
Here are some tips from Champion Home Services to help you stay cool.
- Stay in the air conditioning as much as possible. If you don’t have AC, go to a shelter or assigned cool-down station.
- Make sure and stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water.
- If you have to be outside, try to stay in the shade as much as possible.
- Wear light-colored and loose clothes.
