Champion Home Services is proud to partner with Operation Comfort to sponsor the Memorial Day Car Show on Monday, May 27th, 2019.
Operation Comfort is an active duty and veteran-focused organization founded in 2004 by Janis Roznowski, who was a flight attendant at the time. In her time as a flight attendant, Janis began visiting wounded combat members, which ultimately led to the formation of Operation Comfort. The organization now provides wounded and ailing service members a different type of recovery. Through adaptive physical activities such as cycling, sled hockey, yoga, equine therapy, swimming, surfing, softball, fishing, rafting, and woodworking, veterans and active duty members of every branch of the armed forces have a community of fellow soldiers to heal, learn, and compete with.
One of the most competitively successful sports programs that Operation Comfort hosts is the sled hockey team. The San Antonio Rampage Sled Hockey team is currently in its 10th season and was the first team here in the U.S. to be made up entirely of wounded service members. The team has been a huge success – it’s won two championships in its league and finished second at nationals twice, as well.
As a fellow San Antonio-based organization and veteran-owned company, Champion Home Services is honored to co-sponsor the 9th annual Operation Comfort Car Show in Helotes this year. This event is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be food, a silent auction, music, a 50/50 raffle, goodie bags and more! Come out and support a great cause and see some cool cars!
