The pumpkins are everywhere. Candy is on sale. Costumes line the aisles at HEB. That can only mean one thing. Halloween is almost here!
Did you know you can still celebrate Halloween to the fullest and be energy efficient? You can! It’s not difficult, actually. In fact, here are a couple of simple tips from Champion Home Services to green up your Halloween.
- First things first, save all the huge decorations that require energy for the night of October 31. This accomplishes two things. One, it gives the kids something extra scary to look forward to on Halloween night. And, two, it helps your energy bill by not wasting energy for a few weeks before the big night.
- Second, make your kids trick or treat while using recyclable bags. Tell you neighbors about the plan and get them onboard, as well. You can even pass out recyclable bags to the kids who come knocking at your door.
- Finally, if you’re one of those homeowners who likes to spend Halloween out on the porch waiting for trick or treaters, don’t waste energy in your home. Turn off the TV and any other appliances you don’t need while you’re handing out candy outside.
There you have it. A couple of tips for a green Halloween! Now speaking of green, where’s my Frankenstein makeup?
