Energy Saving Tips
- Keep air conditioning thermostats set between 78 and 80 degrees.
- Use programmable thermostats, so when your not Home during the day the temperatures are set higher.
- Install ceiling fans to help circulate the air in the house.
- Check and replace dirty air filter on a monthly basis.
- If you have an older unit, consider buying a new high efficiency unit, SEER 13 or higher, which will reduce annual costs from older SEER 10 units by a minimum of 30%.
- Use energy efficient windows.
- Check and make sure there is sufficient insulation in the attic.
- Keep fireplace dampers closed.
- Check and repair air ducts for leaks or cracks.
- Replace old skylights with new energy efficient models.
- Have routine maintenance done on all your Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition equipment.
- Turn off kitchen, and bathroom exhaust fans within 20 minutes after you are done.
- Replace old worn out weather stripping on doors and windows.
